Truck Genie, LLC ("Truck Genie", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at truckgenie.app (the "Website"), use our web application at my.truckgenie.app (the "Web App") or our mobile application (the "Mobile App"), and use related services (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Personal identifiers (e.g., name, email address, phone number)
- Employment information (e.g., company name, employee ID)
- Driver documentation (e.g., DOT medical card information, driver’s license number, license expiration dates)
- Contact lens and hearing aid usage (as indicated on DOT medical cards)
- Employer-related information (e.g., company registration data)
- Photos and documents you upload (e.g., inspection photos, vehicle and company documents)
- Billing information when you subscribe. Card details are entered into and stored by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- What you submit through forms on the Website, such as a demo request (name, company name, email address, phone number, fleet size, and the features you are interested in)
1.2 Information We Automatically Collect
- Device information (e.g., device type, OS version, browser type, mobile network)
- Log data (e.g., IP address, timestamps, app feature usage)
- Location data (only if you enable it)
- Usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies on the Website and Web App, described in section 2
1.3 Information from Third Parties
We may collect or receive information from your employer or authorized third-party integrations.
2. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
Cookies and similar technologies are small pieces of data stored by your browser. We use them to keep the Website and Web App working, to understand how they are used, and to measure our advertising. The Mobile App does not use the analytics or advertising tools described in this section.
2.1 Necessary Storage
The Web App keeps your sign-in session and a few preferences (such as recently viewed items) in your browser’s storage, and the Website remembers your light or dark theme choice. Stripe, our payment processor, sets cookies in the Web App (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) to help prevent fraud. These are needed for the Services to work and are not used for analytics or advertising.
2.2 Analytics
- Google Analytics (Google LLC), loaded through Google Tag Manager on the Website and directly in the Web App, including pages you see after you sign in. It records the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or an ad campaign), your device and browser type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and events such as starting a free trial. In the Web App we send Google only the page’s path: record identifiers are replaced with a placeholder, and query strings are removed except campaign tags. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off for the Web App. Cookies: _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), in the Web App. Clarity records how you use the Web App, such as the pages you visit, clicks, taps, scrolling, and mouse movement, so we can find and fix problems. Recordings are linked to your Truck Genie login. Cookies: _clck and _clsk, plus cookies Microsoft sets on clarity.ms. Microsoft’s use of this information is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- HubSpot (HubSpot, Inc.), on the Website. HubSpot records the Website pages you visit. If you submit a form, HubSpot links those earlier visits to what you submitted, so we know how you found us. If HubSpot cannot be reached, the form is delivered through Formspree instead. Cookies: __hstc, hubspotutk, __hssc, and __hssrc.
2.3 Advertising
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.), on the Website. It tells Meta which Website pages you visit, together with your IP address, browser information, and Meta’s cookies, so we can measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Cookies: _fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad. They are set for truckgenie.app, so the Web App can read them too.
- Signup event (Meta Conversions API). When you sign up for Truck Genie in the Web App, our servers send Meta one event recording the signup. It contains your email address and your first and last name, each hashed (converted with SHA-256 into a one-way code, so the text itself is not sent), your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the Meta cookie values above or the Meta ad click identifier in the link you arrived on (if there is one), the signup page address and time, and whether you started a free trial or a paid subscription, with the amount due at signup. Meta compares the hashed details with its own records to match the signup to an ad you saw or clicked, and reports to us how our ads perform. We send this event once, at signup, and send Meta nothing further about your use of the Services.

2.4 Your Choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may stop you from signing in to the Web App.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- You can control the ads Meta shows you in your Meta ad preferences.
- The Services do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services
- Verify your identity and company affiliation
- Facilitate communication between you and your employer (where applicable)
- Process subscription payments
- Respond to demo requests and other inquiries
- Improve the Services, including troubleshooting, data analysis, and testing
- Measure how the Website and Web App are used and how well our advertising works
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
4. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information:
- With your employer (e.g., fleet managers) as necessary for operational purposes
- With service providers that support the operation of our Services, such as hosting, payment processing (Stripe), email and notification delivery, and customer relationship management (HubSpot), subject to confidentiality obligations
- With analytics and advertising providers (Google, Microsoft, and Meta), as described in section 2
- With law enforcement, regulators, or others if required by applicable law
- In connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets. In such cases, your information may be transferred to a successor or affiliate as part of the transaction. You acknowledge and agree that such transfers may occur and are permitted under this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws treat the advertising measurement described in section 2.3 as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or as "targeted advertising". Section 7 explains how to opt out.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law or your employer's policies. Analytics and advertising providers keep the information they collect under their own retention settings and policies.
6. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. However, no security system is impenetrable. You use the Services at your own risk.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain data processing activities
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising
- Withdraw consent (where consent was given)
Several US states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia, give their residents these rights, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them. To opt out of sharing for advertising, email support@truckgenie.app with "Do Not Share" in the subject line, and block or delete the Meta cookies in your browser (section 2.4).
Requests to exercise these rights should be submitted to support@truckgenie.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. If you are an employee, you may also need to coordinate through your employer.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for businesses and their employees and are not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
9. International Data Transfers
The Services are intended for use in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" and providing notice on the Website, in the Services, or through other appropriate communication channels.
