Roadside Ready

Pull up one truck's documents, inspection history and repair record on a single screen, so an officer's questions get answered from your phone instead of a glovebox.

Roadside Ready is a read-only view built for one moment: a driver is stopped, and someone is asking for paperwork. Everything the officer is likely to ask for is grouped by unit, and nothing has to be assembled on the spot because it was filed as the work happened.

Where to find it. Roadside Ready is in the left sidebar. If you do not see it, sign out and back in. The sidebar is built at login, so a newly granted screen does not appear until the next sign-in.

Picking a unit

Choose the truck at the top of the screen. Everything below it changes to that unit. The four panels underneath are the four things a roadside inspection tends to turn on.

Unit Documents

Everything that belongs to the truck itself: registration, title, cab card, IFTA and UCR credentials, the annual inspection report, and the insurance certificate. Each row shows the document type and its expiry date, and expiring documents are flagged so you find out in the yard rather than at a scale house.

Tap any row to open the file.

Company Documents

The paperwork that belongs to the carrier rather than the truck: USDOT registration, MC authority, fleet liability and cargo insurance. These are the same on every unit, so they are kept in their own panel instead of being duplicated against each truck.

DVIR History

Every driver vehicle inspection report filed against this unit, newest first, with the date, the driver, whether the inspection came back clean, and how many issues were raised. Open any row to read the inspection itself.

This is the panel that answers "show me your inspection records". It is populated by the inspections your drivers already complete, so there is nothing extra to maintain.

Service History

Open defects and completed work orders for the unit. Open defects list what a driver reported, in the driver's own words, with the date and the work order it became. Recent work orders show what was done and when it closed.

Together with DVIR History this covers the second half of the question: a defect was reported, and here is the repair that answered it.

Roadside Ready does not change anything. It is a view. Documents are uploaded against the unit, inspections come from your drivers, and work orders come from the work queue. Nothing is entered here.

Getting the most out of it

1

Upload the documents once. Registration, annual inspection, cab card and insurance against each unit. This is the only part that needs doing up front.

2

Let the inspections accumulate. DVIR History fills itself from the inspections drivers already run.

3

Show your drivers where it lives before they need it. The screen is most useful to the person standing at the window.
